ECS Season 3 Begins on April 14, 2017, All Matches Streamed Live on YouTube Gaming
CS:GO has become one of the most demanding and competitive esports titles of all time. The Season 3 ECS Promotional Matches last weekend showed that the level of ability in our heroes just keeps on rising, and excitement for the main season is reaching fever pitch. Season 3 kicks off on the 14th April LIVE on the new home of the ECS, http://gaming.youtube.com/faceit.
On top of the move to our new home at YouTube Gaming, this season is expected to be the most intense so far!
Most notably we are now missing TSM. Since parting with their CS:GO team, TSM have decided to sit out of CS:GO for the near future. We are sad to see them go, but look forward to the mix-up their departure will create. This empty slot has already been filled by the Detroit Renegades line-up consisting of AZR, jks, USTILO, who are looking to fill two more slots after the recent departures from the team.
The Season 3 North American Promotional Matches rounded off seeing a young pretender, Bee’s Money Crew, dispatching Complexity in a convincing 3-0. Complexity must now take a serious look at how to come back stronger next season, but can take a positive from the nearly perfect match played by Android.
Bee’s Money Crew power forward with a young and exciting team that we are all interested to follow over the coming months.
“What ECS means to the team? ECS means the world to us” Said Matthew “Wardell” Bowman of Bee’s Money Crew, “To be able to participate in a league with NA’s best is unfathomable. The journey to get here was long, difficult and most importantly fun. But it was definitely worth it! I’d like to thank ECS/FACEIT for this wonderful opportunity to prove ourselves as a team.”
Moving into the team’s returning from Season 2 of ECS; all the greats are back and more powerful than you can ever imagine!
The Brazilian powerhouse SK Gaming will be favorite in NA ECS. They are not showing any signs of slowing, and with a consistent record of top finishes they are the end bosses of the NA region. The slayers with sights on the top however come in the shape of Cloud9 and Immortals, as well as recently reshaped squads OpTic, Team Liquid and CLG who are going from strength to strength and have already shown that 2017 could be the year of the American teams. Rounding out with a few dark horses, NRG and Luminosity, the North American region will certainly have some exciting games for us!
FINAL NA TEAMS:
- SK Gaming
- OpTic Gaming
- Counter Logic Gaming
- Luminosity Gaming
- Team Liquid
- NRG Esports
- Bee’s Money Crew
North missing out on EU ECS should be a good enough example of the pure skill level that this region is currently showing. In one of the closest, most nail biting Promotional Matches we saw Fnatic return to form and barely hold off the North to keep their spot in the ECS.
Fnatic played like demons and, at the head of it all, Demon King Olofmeister was kicking ass and taking names, finishing on an insane 109 kills over 4 games. VODs available here: https://gaming.youtube.com/watch?v=FbFCXlKIEfs.
Who can follow a performance like that you may ask? The Virtus Plough! The Poles stormed into the final spot of ECS Season 3, knocking aside a team that put up an amazing fight in the final match of this weekend. Space Soldiers showed us that Turkey might just be the next big thing in CS:GO, taking Virtus.pro to overtime on two maps, and we expect this is not the last we will see of this innovative team.
The real end boss in CS:GO right now are the phenomenon that is Astralis. Since their win in ECS Season 2, this team have been untouchable, taking down everyone “GG EZ” with the line-up of Xyp9x, dev1ce, dupreeh, Kjaerbye, gla1ve and overlord zonic seem unstoppable!
Rounding out the EU ECS is a truly all-star line-up featuring FaZe, GODSENT, mousesports, NiP, EnVyUs and G2. The teams look strong and determined, especially the French who have recently gone through a major shuffle. Add to that the potential of Team Dignitas’ new roster and we have a seriously stacked EU ECS.
FINAL EU TEAMS:
- Team EnVyUs
- FaZe Clan
- G2 Esports
- Ninjas in Pyjamas
- Team Dignitas
